CVPal firmware upload using FT232

Hi everyone,
I don’t have an AVR programmer, but I have a USB FT232 programmer (that I use to program Arduino Pro Mini), can I use that one to program the ATTINY84? I believe not on the CVPal board, but how about program it on breadboard and then put it on the pcb?
