Streams settings saved on startup?

Clock divider mode for grids
@TheSlowGrowth ah, true if you’re using the internal clock. Multiplication is handy if you’re using an external clock though. Perhaps the 3rd Accent output could simply output the undivided clock. a|x

YAM - alternative Shruthi-1 firmware
I guess the issue there would be that the firmware for the controller would also need to be rewritten. a

There was talk at one point of more esoteric voicecards for the original Ambika- multi-drum/percussion voice, speech synth etc. a|x

@Bjarne how about some 32 bit MCU-based Ambika voice cards? a|x

YAM - alternative Shruthi-1 firmware
Agreed. But there are quite a few DIY projects that either use the Teensy devboard, or have SMT MCUs pre-soldered, so the use of a 32-bit microprocessor doesn’t preclude it being DIY. a|x

I’m sure you could do some pretty cool things if you replaced the Shruthi-1 MCU with a more modern 32-bit alternative. You’d probably want to redesign the whole control board to operate at 3.3V. How about a full-colour OLED display, for a start…

+5V direct from power supply?
@pichenettes so they’re not so vulnerable to 5V spikes, whereas Grids used the Euro 5V unregulated (because it has a 5V MCU, I guess)? a|x

@6581punk I know. But some of the older modules did use the 5V supply. @pichenettes has mentioned Grids was one of them, but I’m wondering which other ones might also have done the same. a|x

@Olivier, which MI modules, apart from Grids, use the 5V Euro buss? I have 2x uZeus in my system, and my Grids is still alive and well, but there have been occasions when it doesn’t appear to be working, on turning on my system. Could be a sepe…

Sequencers... ?

+1 for the Prizma. I was going to mention that. The RYO VCSequencer is also quite nice, thought only 8-step. a|x

Another (almost) fully Mutable system
Good point about the 12 bit Radio Music output. I had forgotten again that. Agreed about building your own library. I have a nice collection of percussion sounds I made from recordings of me messing around with cutlery in the kitchen ;) a|x

Ripples = VCF + VCA ?
True. But you can’t filter one signal, and use the VCA on another. I think you’d still get some high-frequency rolloff, even with the filter fully open. a|x

If you’re not into DIY, and you’re in the UK/EU, I’d be happy to build a couple for you, for cost + enough to buy myself another one of the same ;) a|x

I’d consider replacing the TipTop One modules with Music Thing Radio Musics. They’re more flexible, and can do one-shot playback and play WAV files, just like the Ones (and can even play the SD cards sold for the One module). a|x

Note the VCA only acts on the output from the low-pass filter, and you can’t use the VCA without the signal first going through the filter, as there is no independent input to the VCA. a|x

Elements volume. Lower price than Rings (and others)?
There seems to be quite a lot of variation in Euro module output volume. For example, my Dinky’s Taiko module is waaaaay louder than any of my other modules. a|x

Module Tester and OLED Display?

Thanks for the tip @altitude. Have you found the white Raystar ones to be genuinely white? I bought a (unbranded) white OLED for my Ornament & Crime module, and it had a distinct bluish tinge to it. a|x
